The Ukranian hockey coach in that sexual assult case was found dead in jail…

WOW. That's sketchy.
That "Milliseconds and Millimeters" article is downright EXCELLENT.

Excellent writing, excellent analysis, excellent perspective, excellent points. It’s a big build-up to a smaller main point, but the build-up itself is truly fascinating and something I’d never really thought about before (not at that level of detail, at least).

E is for Excellent

She’s one of my favorite hockey bloggers of the last few years.

I’ve never read any of her stuff before, I’m REALLY impressed. I’ll definitely be going back there.

She used to write her own blog at Theory of Ice, but recently joined Backhand Shelf. Seriously, I think I’ve shared about every article she’s written in these notes pieces.

There’s a treasure trove of truly great, unique hockey writing in there.

Oh, okay I recognize that site… I think followed a link there once, but was feeling too impatient to read something so long at the time, haha. I’ll bookmark it – thanks!

Detroit and their shootouts....

This year I have finally decided I am against the shootout.

I liked it when it first came out and I am sure the fact that Detroit is winning in so many of them has SOMETHING to do with it, but it doesn’t seem realistic to me. It is an exhibition, it doesn’t really mimic in game situations other than the rare breakaway.

I am not sure what the alternative is, but it just doesn’t seem right.

Obviously we'll take the points

but not many of us are happy with how many games are going to the SO either.

Although, in fairness, if they went to the 3-point system (3 points for a regulation win, 2 for OT/SO win, 1 for OT/SO loss, the Wings would still lead the division.

It’s not good that Detroit hasn’t been able to finish off teams as efficiently as they were earlier in the season though.

They would still lead, but not by as much.

I think they are still ahead in ROW. I am not sure the 3 point system is the answer. I think it over rewards regulation wins.

This is my problem with it too:
I think it over rewards regulation wins.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a solution.

WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When did a Detroit fan learn to use a computer?!

Detroits last 17 games...

4 regulation wins
2 OT wins
6 SO wins

This is unbelievable. Does anyone know if anything like this has happened before?

Just watched the 3rd period of the Sharks/Hawks game, in which Chicago lost 5-3.

And I gotta say, I have never enjoyed watching Chicago poop the bed more than have been the last week-ish.

wow, 7 in a row..

almost makes you wanna feel sorry for them…almost…

Almost....

Just like I would almost like to see them miss the Playoffs.
